Methow Trails, now in its 40th year of providing epic nordic skiing, cycling and hiking trails in the Methow Valley, also organizes a multitude of competitive and fun events. Over the last 10+ years I have been shooting event photos for Methow Trails, with their most recent events featured here!
Sunflower Marathon
This unique course begins at 2180 feet elevation in Mazama and includes well marked deer trails, single track trails, and gravel roads. Stunning views of the Methow River, North Cascades and Chelan Sawtooths abound from flower carpeted meadows and fields. At two points, racers climb to 2600 feet. The finish is at about 1600 feet in Twisp.
Cutthroat Classic
Topping the charts in inspiration and popularity, the Cutthroat Classic provides incredible mountain views along a spectacular section of high alpine trail. The Cutthroat course is an 11-mile singletrack trail run through the North Cascades, following the iconic Pacific Crest Trail up and over 6800' Cutthroat Pass.
Ski to Sun Marathon
An iconic point to point 40K Nordic Ski Race in the Methow Valley, WA. The course will take racers from Mazama down the valley and up to the sunny slopes of Sun Mountain Lodge for a heart-pounding finish. Steady climbs, fast descents, and festive aid stations await!
