By nature, I’m a visual person—and for over four decades, I’ve been photographing life as it unfolds. You could say I lean more toward photojournalism than fine art, though I often find myself drifting somewhere in between. Mentored by my father, a black-and-white photography specialist, I spent countless hours in darkrooms, learning the fundamentals of exposure, composition, and the patience it takes to truly see. Those early experiences shaped the photographer I am today. Light, place, and time—these are the three tenets I live by. That’s why I always carry a camera. Good light, in the right place, at just the right time, is rare and fleeting—and I never want to miss those unexpected, priceless moments.
